In 2008, Dead Fucking Serious were on hiatus. Meanwhile, I wrote some funny punk songs to liven up my shows with The ILLusionists; and in 2012, we finally recorded them.
The only problem was that all five songs were a combined total of three and a half minutes. We couldn't justify a three and a half minute EP, so I asked Ben, Chris, and Kellen if DFS could reunite for a split.
Only Ben declined, which was a blessing in disguise. With three members, we were leaner and meaner than before. And with just one practice, we recorded all five songs... LIVE. The four years apart had only made us more ferocious.
We re-recorded three songs from our first EP (which was bad), wrote "Last One Standing," and closed with "Minor Threat," which we used to play live (with Chris on vocals).
The EP was called "The Split." With no promotion, it quickly came and went. The cover art was more memorable than the music, but more importantly, DFS had finally found our sound.
Over the next five years, we staged a comeback that would last to this day. We wrote and recorded our first full-length album, SQUALOR, followed by PERIL, and several regional tours. (Chris moved on, but Ben still plays with us on and off.)
Now, as producer Paul Miner is mixing our third LP, KLANDEMIC, we're approaching the 10th anniversary of our reunion. I wanted to remix, remaster, and reclaim it as the rebirth of DFS. Today, for the first time on CD, we proudly present: THE RECLAMATION...
a five minute EP.

The ILLusionists approached their fifth album like it would be their last. "Death of a Salesman" is both a scathing attack on the 9-5 life and a battle cry for dreamers everywhere. Take 92 Music
